Date Limits on Submissions
~ All "OPEN" entries for '23 - '24 must be taken after April 1, 2021, with the exception that the
January 24 completion has no date restriction.
~ All "ASSIGNED" entries must be taken within the year before the competition date.
Entry Procedure for Digital Images
(Amended September 2023)
Competition images must be submitted via email to: SCOV[email protected]
Include in your email:
a. Member's name
b. Level (I, II or III)
c. Name(s) of your digital photo(s), for example:
(1) blue_bird.jpg
(2) sunflower.jpg
d. Attach up to two digital photos (named the same as in step c) to the email. Do not insert the images into the body of the email.
Submit digital images to any size, dimensions, or length to width ratios. The file format must be JPG. Please see the club’s website (COMPETITION INFO - FORMS + GUIDELINES) for instructions on resizing digital images and attaching your name. The recommended color space for digital submissions is sRGB. Decorative edges and digitally added frames/borders are not allowed on any image.
Deadline for entries is 5 PM on the Friday prior to the competition. NOTE: The email submission site is set to respond that your images have been received. If you do not get such a response please verify that you have submitted your images to the correct address.
Members must pay competition fees prior to submitting images for our competitions. Competition fees are $30.00 for the year (June 1 to May 31), including just for a portion of the year. This allows two print and two digital submissions into each competition. There are no “per image” fees for competitions. Checks should be made out to the SCOV Vistoso Photo Club and mailed to:

Entry Procedure for Prints
Completed entry forms with (1) the member's name, (2) Level (I, II or III), and Image Titles, must be placed in the appropriate Vistoso Photo Club receptacle in the Photo Lab in the Catalina Vista Center by 5 PM on the Friday prior to the competition. The Print Submission Form is available for printing on the club’s website under Competitions>Forms and Guidelines.
All prints must be identified on the top of the reverse side with the member's Name, Level (I, II or III), and Title of the print. It is suggested that members use the “Back of Print” form available on the club website. The visible print image must be no larger than 13”x19”. Prints must be submitted mounted and optionally matted (single, solid white mats only) on a mounting board measuring 16x20 inches. If a mat is used, the mat must cover the entire white border on the print. The printed image should not be smaller than the mat opening. Photographs and mats should be securely attached to the mounting board.
